Spring again!

Well, after a bit of planting in the rented property, we have some colour in the garden and a few daffodils.  The soil is very different here than we are used to (clay rather than sand) so we are on a bit of a learning curve.  It’s a lot easier to weed being so much smaller, though!

We have done a bit of painting as well, just to make the place look a bit fresher as the walls were very patchy and it does help.  I’m still finding it tricky to feel fully at home in a place you can’t do an awful lot to.  And I’m not even the kind of person who decorates frequently, it’s just nice to have the option!

As well as having two property inspections in the rented one here, our owned property that is rented out has been inspected too.  It is reassuring to know that our owned property has good residents, even if it is a bit strange to see other people’s furniture in your home (the agents send photos!).

Reluctant Landlords

Well, our ‘owned’ house still wasn’t selling, so we put it up for rent and we now have some tenants for the next 12 months. The agents for the house that we are renting ourselves have already offered to extend our lease so I have some things to sort out and paperwork to deal with. It will be nice to know where we are for the next year!

I’m looking forward to developing some new Christmas traditions for our family. It’s certainly going to be different this year, but I’ll be going all out to make it a good one! Hope yours is too.

Autumn!

It’s a while since I’ve posted – although the house still hasn’t sold, we have relocated to a rented property. DD has started school (which she loves) and I’m trying to get all our stuff into the (rather smaller) rental property. Need a major declutter! Garden much smaller too! I do miss the garden …

Friday thoughts

Slight change of picture at the top of the page, need to work on manipulating images more!

DH spent more time last weekend removing plants and shrubs that have not survived the winter snow we had at Christmas.  It is becoming a weekly event!

Still no luck with selling the house – bah! We may seriously need to think about renting it out now and renting a property in our new location.  It’s not our favourite option for a few reasons but we are running out of time.

Will cheer myself up with my new favourite waste of time – Wordle!  I had to fiddle around with the Java settings on my laptop to get it working properly but I love it.  It’s difficult to save a word cloud so I use the ‘print’ option to send it to Microsoft OneNote instead.  I’ve done a wordle of some of my daily tasks, the visually scattered display suits my brain quite well!

I’ll be working on putting a few more pages up on the site very soon, still working my way around it.

Spring …

Spring has sprung – there is some colour in the garden and the sun is seen occasionally in the sky.  The blossom is coming out on the cherry tree, must be due for a strong wind to blow it all off shortly!  It looks lovely, but doesn’t stay for long.

I’m still blundering my way around WordPress – seems a good system, but may take me some time to get used to it.  It’s a while since I’ve used my brain properly but I’m looking forward to getting my blog up and running properly.  Look out for late night updates, when I don’t have to fight DD for the laptop!
